Kirby Cross, a three-time all-state cross country runner and a three-time state track qualifier, has added to her accomplishments a new School record in the girls 3200 meter run. Cross broke the record in a home meet against Pepperell and Coosa on March 27, 2003. Her time of 11:28 eclipsed the 11-year mark of 11:32, which was set by Val Casalini in 1992. Cross has since run under the old mark several times and is in position to lower her record even further, perhaps at the region or state meets in May.
