Smiles and a sense of accomplishment—a good description of Darlington’s crew members’ this week. In their first regatta, the Chattanooga Head Race, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the team competed in the Men's Youth Novice 4+ event and came in seventh out of 10. “They finished strong, and more importantly, clean,” David Corbin, crew coach, said. “I am very proud of all of my crew.”

Circumstances prior to the event demonstrate the dedication and caliber of team members. Shashi Tiwari took his SAT in the morning and made the race just in time to carry the boat to the dock; the boat was already out of the slings and the team was waiting its turn for the dock when he arrived. “Daniel Carpenter, Jason Tullos, Shashi Tiwari, Aaron Tullos, and Ali Mulford were in the boat while Norm Bonnyman and Andrew Smith provided all the support any crew could ever wish for,” Corbin said.
