Cox and Johnson named "Terrific Kids"

Fifth-graders Jade Cox and Luke Johnson were among the Rome-area students recognized as "Terrific Kids" by the Noon Optimist Club of Rome this week.
This annual program honors students who are well-rounded, both academically and athletically, and who have a great attitude," said Dr. Steve Bartholomew, director of Lower School.
Each elementary school in Rome and Floyd County was invited to nominate two students for this special recognition. Several students were selected because of their exceptional citizenship, while others were praised for helping teachers and students, being a friend to new students, or excelling in a class in which they had previously struggled.
“Jade and Luke go well above and beyond what is expected and always put a smile on the faces of their teachers and peers," Bartholomew said. "They are both very deserving of this special award."
Each student was introduced by his or her teacher or principal, and then given a certificate and a goody bag of rewards. Parents and family members were invited to join the festivities and were also recognized for being positive influences on their children.
