Construction Brings Classroom, Security Fence, and Playground

Construction is under way on two new classrooms in the primary building. The addition of these classrooms will allow the school to add as many as two sections in third to fifth grade, addressing the concerns of class size.
Mark Tayloe says that the school will not make a decision regarding the specific use of these classrooms until the enrollment picture for next year is clear.
“Our classes in the fourth and fifth grades are simply too large (23 in each), and we want to reduce those numbers for next year,” Tayloe said. “The availability of these new classrooms will allow us to do that.”
Seeking to make the Lower School campus safer and secure, the school has built a security fence around the levy area of the school. “In the surveys I sent out in the fall, our parents were loud and clear in their concerns about the accessibility of our campus,” said Mark Tayloe. “The security fence addresses their number one concern.”
