Community celebrates fine arts

Painting pottery, creating scenes on puzzles, singing, acting, frolicking, basking in the glorious spring weather. These are some of the activities that made up Darlington's annual Fine Arts Festival, held Friday, April 20 on the Upper School campus. With lots of preparation from Kathy O'Mara, Upper School art instructor, fine arts faculty, students, and parent volunteers, a culmination of Lower, Middle, and Upper School art was displayed or performed. Participants were invited to test their creative abilities with many hands-on activities available to craft.
Vocal and instrumental groups, and soloists shared their talents with eager audiences.
Music playing in the background, a cool breeze, the scent of freshly mowed grass, robin's-egg blue skies, the lawn by the Cove is a perfect place to sit back and soak up the day.
Art appreciation was the catch phrase of the day at the annual Fine Arts Festival, Friday, April 20.
Art fans appreciate the displays among a backdrop of many hues.
Like baseball and peanuts, popcorn and movies, or evergreens and Christmas ---art enthusiasts have come to expect the purple and white striped tent as a sign of the annual Fine Arts Festival.
