Thank you to all of you who helped with Darlington's annual College Fair today! So many of you helped in so many ways:
  • Admissions gave us cups and wrapping supplies for the goodie bags to place on every table.
  • Doug Hamil produced our profile, which lets colleges know who we are. Every representative received a copy.
  • Tannika Wester asked the Rome News-Tribune to come ... and they did!
  • Norris Allen and his team worked miracles getting 175 tables in the Johnson Field House... though I think I saw room for about 10 more!
  • Denise Evans created a special bell schedule for us to follow.
  • Advisors of all grade levels talked about the fair with their students to prepare them for the event.
  • Security welcomed our visitors with 170 spaces closest to the front door of the Huffman Athletic Center, and put out directional signs to show them the way.
  • Parker Adams and his team fed the reps a delicious breakfast before the fair, woke them up with fresh coffee, and rewarded them for coming with wonderful Asian luncheon afterwards.
  • Lynda Miller lent us her Darlington table cloth for the front entrance.
  • The housekeeping staff cleaned the Huffman Center until it was sparkling.
  • RuthAnne Anderson took pictures - I can't wait to see the gallery online!
  • Many of our seniors escorted our representatives to their tables during their free periods. Reba Barnes is going to be kind enough to award them service hour(s) for their time.
  • Anne Paige Wilson let us borrow the Tiger suit. Ian Kinney was our Tiger who high-fived the reps as they entered!
  • Student life helped keep students on task and present.
  • Brent Bell, Beth Pollard, Joe Montgomery, Anna Yarborough, Lisa Goldin, Bob Stinchcomb and the college advisors hosted our representatives at the luncheon and thanked them for coming.
  • Parents attended the fair to support their children in the college process.
  • Every student, faculty, and staff member who attended the fair made Darlington famous for its hospitality. The college reps all raved about you!
  • Most importantly, the faculty spent time with our students suggesting schools for them to visit, listening to them, and guiding them to find a college that is just the right fit for them.
These and so many more little things go into hosting a college fair. We appreciate all that you do to make it a success and to make colleges want to return year after year.
