Carroll named October Student of the Month

Outstanding academic achievement has won senior Spencer Carroll the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for October.
Carroll is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish Honor Society, and has taken 18 Honors and AP classes. A Centre College Fellow and an AP Scholar with Distinction, he has also received the E.L Wright Award for Modern World History, the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, and the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology. He is a member of the varsity soccer team and a graduate of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce High School Leadership Rome program. He also served as a water monitoring intern for the Coosa River Basin Initiative and is an acolyte at St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
The son of Dale and Todd Carroll of Rome, Spencer Carroll will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon Oct. 27.
