The Lower School will operate on the same school calendar as the Middle and Upper Schools beginning with the 2000 – 2001 academic year. The most notable change is that students will go to school on Labor Day and extend Thanksgiving vacation by one day, coming back the Tuesday afterwards rather than on Monday.
“We are making this change for many reasons,” said Lower School Principal Mark Tayloe. “The schedule will be more convenient for our parents with children on more than one campus. Bus transportation will not be so inconvenienced in trying to run routes while also trying to pick up boarding students from the airport the Monday after Thanksgiving. And the food service schedule can run on the same schedule at all three schools. It simply makes more sense for all three schools to operate on the same calendar.”
