Pre-kindergarteners are busy learners. “We are building an igloo out of milk jugs for a reading center,” Beth Smith, pre-kindergarten teacher, said.

Each week they study words beginning with the next letter of the alphabet. For example, recently they learned “Mm” by looking in microscopes at money.

The students love to put what they have learned into practice. “We made snowmen for snack one day after we read The Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow,” Smith said.
