Bryant breaks more marks at meet

With seemingly every stroke, Kristopher Bryant is rewriting the Darlington record books. Bryant, a sophomore, set two more school records - giving him five for his career, including four this season - during a three-team meet Thursday night at Rome High.
Bryant set his latest new marks while winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.33, and capturing the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.06.
Darlington's boys took third place at the meet with 47 points, finishing behind first-place Dalton (142) and runner-up Rome (90). The same order held true in the girls' meet - Dalton won the team title with 138 points, followed by Rome (112) and Darlington (47).
Rome High's Bryan Hostetler won the boys' 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.12, and Rome's Janelle Rodgers won the same event on the girls' side with a time of 27.17.
Rome's Taylor Wilson won the boys' 100-yard freestyle at 54.10, and the Rome High girls' relay team -Jessica Hook, Christie Douglass, Rebecca Whitney and Janelle Rodgers - took first in the 200-yard freestlye.
The Darlington boys relay team (Bryant, Harrison Douglas, Scott Travis and Jason Lu) earned second in the 200-yard relay. Rome's relay team (Samuel Douglas, Min Kwon, Taylor Wilson and Bryan Hostletler) took third.
In the girls' race, Rome High's "A" and "B" teams took second and third place, respectively, in the 200-yard relay. Team members of the "A" team are: Caroline Hightower, Katie Lansing, Hook and Rodgers. Team members of the "B" are: Ansley Griffen, Abby Grout, Kelly Kozera and Rebecca Whitney. Hook also took second in the girls' 200-yard freestyle, and Scott took second in the boys 200-yard free.
Additional local swimmers who earned second or third-place finishes during the night included: Rebecca White (Rome), Samuel Douglas (Rome), Alexander Dodd (Darlington), Jason Lu (Darlington), Brennan McElhorne (Rome), Caroline Hightower (Rome), Julia Rhiner (Rome), Ansley Griffen (Rome), and Katie Lansing (Rome).
