Brown named October Student of the Month

Outstanding academic achievement has won senior Grover Brown the honor of being named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for October.
Brown has a GPA of 98.26 with 10 Honors and six AP credits. While at Darlington, he has earned the Huffman Family Scholarship Award, a UGA Certificate of Merit and the Sewanee Club Award. He is a member of the Headmaster’s List as well as National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society. An accomplished student-athlete, Brown is a member of the varsity cross country and track teams. In 2007, he won the Spirit Award for cross country and the Leadership Award for track. Outside of Darlington, he is a member of Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
The son of Carolyn and Jimmy Brown of Cartersville, Ga., Grover Brown will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Oct. 29.
