Booster Club to host annual Raffle & Steak Dinner

Darlington School’s Athletic Booster Club will host its second annual Raffle & Steak Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Huffman Athletic Center’s Johnson Field House. All proceeds will benefit Darlington’s athletic programs.

“When you have a wonderful athletic facility like the Huffman Center and as many top-notch programs as Darlington has, it takes funding to keep them all going and to keep making improvements,” said Kevin Evans (’87), co-organizer of the event. “To remain competitive in our region and across the state, we need to raise money to supplement the funding that the school is able to budget.”

Tickets are $150 apiece, which includes dinner for two and a chance to win $10,000. Second prize is $2,000. Additional door prizes and team baskets will be given away throughout the evening.

“This raffle offers us a great opportunity to pull together the entire Darlington Community pre-K to 12 in support of our athletic programs,” said co-organizer Mike Lawrence. “By moving the event to Orientation Weekend, we hope that resident families will also be able to join in the fun. We also hope to see our Lower and Middle School families there. This is about building a foundation and constantly improving our programs and facilities for future generations of Darlington students. By working together, we can make it happen!”

The Athletic Booster Club is comprised of an executive committee, the athletic director and a delegate representing the needs and interest of each varsity sport.
