Boone accepts Florida position, Zimmer heads admission

Former director of admission Brian Boone accepted a position at Trinity Preparatory School, Winter Park, Fla. where he will serve as director of development. Boone came to Darlington in July 1998 as alumni director and was part of the development team that successfully raised funds for the Campaign for Darlington.
Due to development office realignment at the close of the campaign, Boone became the national advancement representative and then in July 2001 became the director of admission. “I will miss Darlington a great deal. The students, parents, and alumni are so friendly and supportive. They along with the beauty of the campus and the fantastic faculty, make Darlington a magical place,” Boone said. “It will always have a special place in my heart and my will.”
Casey Zimmer, formerly head of Zimmer House, has stepped down as head of Zimmer House to become the director of admission. Zimmer and his wife Libbie came to Darlington in the summer of 1997. He started as assistant director of admission, and was promoted to associate director of admission in 1999. With the inception of the House system, Zimmer moved into the head of house position in 2000.
In direct relation to this change, Peter Bergen and his wife Lindsay have joined the Darlington community. Bergen is the new head of house in Wilcox (formerly Zimmer House). Bergen, formerly a resident of Pennsylvania, has served as resident dean of a boys’ dorm and assistant dean of residential life staffing and taught history at Phelps School, Malvern, Penn. He has also served as senior camp director at Upper Main Line YMCA, Berwyn, Penn., and has coached varsity soccer and baseball. Bergen earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Penn., and a master’s degree in education from Cabrini College, Radnor, Penn.
