Bohannon ('93) named National Assistant Coach of the Year, Auburn assistant baseball coach

On the heels of being honored last week as National Assistant Coach of the Year by Baseball America and the American Baseball Coaches Association, Darlington alumnus Brad Bohannon ('93) has been named assistant baseball coach at Auburn University.

Bohannon has served as the assistant baseball coach at the University of Kentucky for 12 years, working as the recruiting coordinator for the last 10. During his time as a recruiter, Kentucky has boasted a record 63 players drafted by the MLB or signed as free agents.

His tenure aligns with what has been called the most successful years in the program's history. In 2012, he helped lead the Wildcats to the team's first SEC championship title.

A Rome native, Bohannon holds a degree in finance from Berry College and a master's in business administration from Wake Forest University. As a member of the baseball team during his senior year at Berry, he helped to lead the Vikings to a record 44 wins. 

While at Darlington, Bohannon was a four-year member of the varsity baseball team and a three-year member of the varsity football team, and held membership in the D-Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
