Let’s get to know Zhenhao Xue, a three-year boarding student from China who loves cheering on his brothers from Neville House during RUMPUS.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Inclusive, encouraging, community
What song reminds you of high school?
“Peaches,” my roommate's alarm clock song
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Breaking Bad”
What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Texas Roadhouse
What house are you a member of?
Neville House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Physics Club, Math Club, Chess Club, cross country, swimming, DarFarm
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mr. Evans. He is strict but encouraging. Even though I barely have athletic experience, he still welcomes me to the cross country team and encourages me to keep on practicing.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The lake. It is where I love to hang around with my friends after dinner. The lake is beautiful and peaceful. It is also a pleasure to observe swans and ducks.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Hudson, Mr. Eady, Mr. Hudson are my favorite teachers. They are all knowledgeable in the subjects they are teaching and are able to provide comprehensive instructions. They are able to make the class interesting and, in the meantime, ensure that students learn what they should learn.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
I love the new library. It is a really comfortable place to study and hang out with friends. The best part is the sunshine in the winter days, which makes me warm.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS is a unique experience where the houses really become "families." People work hard together as brothers and sisters, building strong connections and unforgettable experiences.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I began to connect to more people. Initially, I was too shy to talk to new people, but now I could cheer on any Neville brothers even if I do not know them much.
What is your dream job?
Probably something about material science, but undetermined.
