In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Maria Peloggia Pinto, a four-year boarding student from Brazil who is head prefect of Thornwood House.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Friendship, unforgettable, unique
When you think of high school, what song comes to mind?

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Ozark”
What house are you a member of?
Thornwood House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Tennis, head prefect of Thornwood House, president of the Discipline Committee, Student Activities Committee, secretary of the “Y” Cabinet
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Owens. He's always so understandable and willing to help.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My dorm is my favorite on campus. It's where I call home and where I met my lifelong friends.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Owens is my favorite teacher. She was a great teacher and her classes were very entertaining. I knew she would be willing to help at any time as long as I was putting some effort in.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
The family atmosphere
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Meeting so many people from some different places in one place in such a short period of time.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I became more independent and responsible and have learned a lot from my experiences, friends, and leadership positions.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
I want to go to the University of Miami and my dream and hopefully future job is pediatric surgeon.
