Let’s get to know Logan Wu, a four-year boarding student from Hangzhou, China, who loves playing golf and performing at Lessons & Carols each year.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Natural, freedom, comfortable
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“House of Cards”
What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Harvest Moon
What house are you a member of?
Summerbell
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Golf Academy, varsity golf, Summerbell House leader, Concert Choir tenor section leader, Random Notes boys’ a cappella group
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Brian Albertson because he is patient and he always helps me with my golf swing when I encounter a problem.
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
Lessons & Carols because as a member of Concert Choir we sing beautiful Christmas songs to the community. I like being involved in the community.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Home-on-the-Hill because the view from the hill to the lake is marvelous.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Coach Willerson, my AP Econ teacher and my golf coach, he helps me a lot in both Econ class and on the golf course. We like to discuss world news and stock market trends when we are playing golf. Coach Smith, my dorm teacher, likes cooking food for us. He has helped me solve a lot of problems in the last four years, and he treats me like his own son.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
Ample weekend activities like haunted houses, shopping trips, etc. Every student's interests are being taken seriously.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
I like doing stock trading and Coach Willerson created a mock stock trading iPeriod.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
My golf game. When I first came to Darlington, my golf game was untutored. I could only shoot around 85. Now, I constantly shoot around 75 and sometimes under par.
What is your dream job?
Becoming a famous stock trading expert
