A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Chaeli Brogdon, a four-year boarding student from Nassau, Bahamas, who describes RUMPUS as Harry Potter and the Olympics coming together.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Family, connections, and home

What song reminds you of high school?
“Sky Full of Stars” - Coldplay

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“The Walking Dead”

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Dos Bros

What house are you a member of?
Thornwood

What are you involved in at Darlington?
Tennis, art, Thornwood House dorm leader, volleyball

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mr. Owens because he is super encouraging and overall just a great coach and teacher.

If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
Art because I get to use my creativity to create something that could inspire others.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Growl because it’s just a really nice place to hang out after dinner or on the weekends.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Marshall and Mrs O'Mara. In Mr. Marshall's class, there was never a class where we didn't laugh. I was always excited for his class. I've been in Mrs O'Mara's class for four years (willingly). I love Mrs O'Mara as a person; we've become close.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The diversity and connections that I have made.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS. Harry Potter and the Olympics come together for the most fun experience that I would never have even thought would ever happen. It’s  so crazy it's like a dream.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I've learned how to be independent since I lived in the dorms. I've been away from my family for four years.

What is your dream job?
To have my own business one day
