In this #SeniorSpotlight, get to know Anne Marie Wright, a two-year boarding student from Vidalia, Ga., who wants to be a trauma surgeon.
When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Athletics, service, community
What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Cold Case Files”
What house are you a member of?
Thornwood House
What are you involved in at Darlington?
Soccer, track, swimming, wrestling, and head of graphic design for the Inkslinger literary magazine
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Had too many to choose!
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The weight room because I like to lift weights.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Shorey and Mr. Allen because they have encouraged me to actually try in class.
What's your favorite thing about Darlington?
That teachers genuinely care about you learning and making accomplishments, not only academically but in your personal life as well.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
Totaling my car.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I've learned I have a learning disability and how to continue to pursue challenging academics despite it.
Where do you want to go to college and what is your dream job?
University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and I want to be a trauma surgeon.
