Biblical Literacy Complements Curriculum

A Biblical literacy component has been added to the Lower School curriculum. Each class spends a minimum of 45 minutes a week reading and discussing familiar stories and characters of the Bible. Discussions focus on the content of each story, the characters’ relationship with God and with one another, and the lessons to be learned.
"We want our students to experience the Bible as good literature Principal Mark Tayloe said. "Furthermore, as our students move into the Middle and Upper schools, the literature they will study will often contain Biblical allusions. If our students have a firm foundation in Biblical literature, they’re going to have a much more successful and meaningful experience in their study of literature."
