•Spanish Club members celebrated Spanish Week April 30 – May 4 with campus activities including a school-wide invitation hosted by the language department to sample Spanish food, a piñata party, and then to culminate the celebration, a fling in the Cove called Fiesta de Cinco de Mayo, complete with a Mariachi/Salsa Band and ethnic fare.

•Sophomore Virginia Davidson has won an all-expense-paid Bundestag Scholarship and will spend her junior year in Germany beginning July 30. She will be staying with a local family.

•Carlos and Marisa Ortega ’85, Upper School faculty, will lead Darlington’s first summer study abroad program to Spain, June 16 – July 7. Six Darlington students and two students from Holy Innocents will travel to San Sebastian where they will live with families and attend classes for two weeks. The final week in Spain will be spent traveling to Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Cordoba, Granada, and Seville.

•Darlington’s math team placed second in the geometry division at a math contest from Greater Atlanta Christian.

•Two Darlington students earned finalist status with the French National Test this spring. Sophomore Elyse Moody placed fifth with French III and Jan Chalmovsky ranked tenth in the French III foreigner division.
