  • Matthew Kearney, Upper School English instructor, has been nominated to serve on the Georgia Council for the Arts Grant Literature Approval Panel. A poem by Kearney, “Held by a Line,” has been accepted for publication in Riverrun, a Michigan literary review.

  • Marisa Ortega ’85, Upper School English instructor, earned her master’s degree in English at the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. As part of the program, she completed the requirements for her degree this summer at Lincoln College in Oxford, England.

  • Sam Moss ’63, dean of studies and college guidance, spent one week of the summer training new college admission officers at a professional institute at Davidson College. The 81 admission counselors in attendance were sent by their colleges to the institute, which is sponsored by the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), of which Moss is a past-president. This is Moss’s sixth consecutive year participating in the event.
