Bennett places first in his age group at Reverse Sprint Triathlon

Eighth-grader Clayton Bennett won first place in the 13-17 year-old age group at Fort Benning’s Reverse Sprint Triathlon on May 11. The course consisted of a 5K run, a 20K bike ride, and a 550-meter swim.
“I enjoy competing in various triathlons,” Bennett said. “Reverse races are fun because they are unique. Competitors have to save stamina for the swim, but it feels great to jump in the pool after completing the other parts of the race.”
Fourteen-year-old Bennett finished twelfth overall in the race of 78 adults and eight other children. A repeat participant, he won his age group in 2012 also. He is the son of Beth and Clayton Bennett of Acworth, Ga.
