I often have students who come and "hang out" in my office during breaks and free periods. Recently, while visiting with a group of newly licensed drivers, I encouraged them all to take a No Text On Board sticker for their cars. As new drivers, they said they were way too nervous to even try to text and drive; however, every last one of them said their parents were guilty of texting or reading texts while driving.

As parents, and educators I think we all agree that we don't want our children distracted while driving, but many of us make the mistake of thinking, because we are experienced drivers, we can engage is this extremely dangerous behavior.

I hope you well take a few moments to view the two brief public service announcements linked below and accept the challenge to "be the driver you want your teen to be."
