Baseball Bats Strong Season

Darlington’s varsity baseball team finished the season, 12-11, including two region losses against Calhoun, April 13.
The season began with a 7-8 loss to Bremen, Feb. 23. The boys turned around to beat Haralson County, Feb. 24, 4-2. They then experienced a strong victory, Feb. 26, defeating Mount Zion 12-5.
The next competition was a tie with Bremen, March 3. In a game against Adairsville, March 6, the Tigers won 17-14, but then lost to Cass 6-7, March 7. In a close match against Mount Paran, March 14, the Tigers were victorious, 5-4. A competition against Armuchee, March 18, was not as successful with a 3-8 loss against the Indians.
In a blow-away win against St. Francis, the Tigers outscored their opponents 16-1. Then similarly, Lovett defeated the Tigers 5-15, March 21. And on March 23, the Tigers fell to Holy Innocents, 3-6.
The next two competitions were wins against Haralson County, 13-3, March 24, and Trion, 18-11, March 27. The team lost to Walker on March 28, 7-4. And in another close rivalry, Darlington beat Mount Paran 14-13 on March 30. Lovett beat the Tigers, 10-1, April 5.
On April 6, the Tigers beat Galloway in a double header, 15-0 and 10-2. Then they fell to Holy Innocents 15-5 on April 7, and Walker 9-3 on April 10. Darlington beat St. Francis 12-1 on April 11.
