Banquet honors Headmaster’s List students

Members of Darlington’s Cum Laude Society hosted a dinner Wednesday, April 25 to honor the students who achieved Headmaster’s List during the 2006-07 school year. This event marked the 18th annual Cum Laude Society Banquet.
Twenty-eight student Cum Laude Society members led the program, giving a welcome, detailing the history of the society, and even sharing some words of advice for the future. Sam Moss (’63), dean of college guidance, presented some outstanding statistics regarding these 28 seniors. So far, they have been accepted at 22 colleges in 13 states and England. Out of that, 11 have earned a combined total of 26 scholarships valued at more than $1.6 million.
"The more you take advantage of the opportunities available to you here at Darlington, the more opportunities you will have open to you in the future," said Moss in his remarks. "The more involved you are in your academic work and in your extracurricular activities - and the more you choose to challenge yourself fully - the more satisfaction you will receive from Darlington and the happier you will be."
