Babb and Thoms named All-Around Students

The Noon Optimist Club of Rome named Darlington fifth-graders Arden Babb and David Thoms All-Around Students at a banquet on Feb. 5. The club sponsors this event each year as part of its Terrific Kids program.
“How wonderful that the Rome Optimist Club recognizes students, not only for their academic achievements and success, but also for their work ethic and well-roundedness,” said Diane Lumpkin, assistant director of Lower School. “Rewarding students in this manner develops self-esteem and personal pride and actually encourages them to reach higher levels of achievement. We are proud of Arden and David and expect we will continue to hear of their achievements as they enter the Middle School next year.”
Babb is the daughter of Audra Babb of Rome and Chris Babb, also of Rome. Thoms is the son of Dr. Bill and Lorie Thoms of Kingston, Ga.
