During Darlington’s winter sports assembly held March 18, many students received awards for their hard work, diligence, and dedication.
Basketball
Van Enloe Boys Basketball Award, established by Mr. Van P. Enloe Sr. for the most valuable player: Porter Leslie
Hustler Boys Basketball Award, given to the player who gives 100 percent effort both in practice and in contests: Chantz McClinic
Jim Van Es Award, given by Mr. and Mrs. Max M. Kimball to the most outstanding boy rebounder: Porter Leslie
Van Enloe Girls Basketball Award, established by Mr. Van P. Enloe Sr. for the most valuable player: Meggie Beth Erwin
Spirit Award for contributing the most team spirit and loyalty for girls basketball: Karen Stuenkel
Huffman Girls Basketball Award, established by Darah Huffman '95 and Anna Huffman '96 for excellence in girls basketball: Sarah Rhodes.
Wrestling
Best Wrestler, for the most valuable wrestler as deemed by his teammates: Peter Hicks
Wrestling Spirit Award, for the team member judged by his teammates to have contributed the most in spirit and loyalty: Rob Withers
Most Improved Wrestler, presented to the team member judged by his teammates to have shown the most improvement: Max Hinton

Most Valuable Swimmers, presented by the Darlington Alumni Association: Kirby Cross and Chan Woo
Most Improved Swimmers, for improvement since the previous season: Juli Mull and Roner Luo
Most Valuable Girl Diver: Megan Bevill
Most Valuable Boy Diver: Andy Gates
Two Darlington School 2002 Diving Records were set by Megan Bevill: in the 1 meter, 6 dive meet, 248.4, and in the 1 meter, 11 dive meet, 352.75

Berry Cheerleading Most Valuable Player Award, established by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berry and daughters, Lowry and Natalie: Lauren Muller
Lauren Muller Senior Cheerleading Award, established in 2002 by Dr. and Mrs. Richard Muller Jr. for the cheerleader who exemplifies outstanding school spirit, sportsmanship, and leadership: Rebecca Edwards
