Athletes play with worthy effort

The Middle School boys soccer team finished the year with a 3-4 record, including victories against Marietta and Woodward. The girls soccer team posted a 0-3-1 record.
Boys Soccer Head Coach Kevin Ivester said that eight-grader Michael Webster, who plays sweeper and center halfback, was the team’s top player. “The guy is just an animal,” Ivester described. “He never stops running, and he plays hard and aggressive the whole game.”
Ivester also commended the efforts of eight-graders William Richardson and Davis Grizzard. “William did a great job this year utilizing his speed on the left wing and scoring goals for us,” Ivester said. “Davis helped us out in a lot of different positions and played them all well. He’s a very versatile and smart player.”
Other team members include eight-graders Brian Eberhard, Kirk Riedling, Ed Bonnyman, Michael Stankiewicz, and Michael Peacock; and seventh-graders Mac McCord, Peter Whatley, Tristan Griffin, Davis Byars, Bo Brinson, Sam Murphy, and Will Brock.
