Atha ('17), Tackeberry ('16) named All-Area Co-Players of the Year in basketball

Darlington's Anna Claire Atha ('17) and Kyle Tackeberry ('16) have been named Rome News-Tribune All-Area Co-Players of the Year for basketball. Several students join them with other All-Area accolades.
On average this season, Atha scored 25.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 4.1 steals. She was recently again named to the AA All-State first team in basketball by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association, and earlier this year was honored as Region 7-AA Player of the Year.

Keara Evans ('16) was named to the All-Area girls' second team, and as honorable mentions, Jade Cox ('16), Kelsey Garrett ('18) and Victoria Pierce ('16).
Per game, Tackeberry averaged 18 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. Under his leadership, Darlington took second in the region in the regular season. Next year, the North Carolina boarding student will be playing basketball for the University of South Carolina Aiken.
