Wise. Faithful. Inspirational. Role model. If these words resonate the qualities of an Upper or Middle School faculty member, then it is time to submit a Parents’ Choice Award nomination. The Parents Association announces a call for nominations, by Darlington parents and alumni, for candidates to consider as the recipient for the 2002-03 Parents’ Choice Award.
The honor is a cash bonus awarded to a distinguished member of the Upper or Middle School Darlington faculty or staff who has shown significant commitment to the School, its mission, and students. The award recognizes someone who is an inspiring role model –someone who makes a positive impact on the student body through insight, leadership, and wisdom.
The Parents Association will choose recipient(s) based on the following criteria: each beneficiary must be a member of the upper and/or middle school faculty, having served the School for at least five years; possess great skill and leadership ability; demonstrate a commitment to the Darlington Motto; and be a faithful member of the Darlington community and epitomize its cooperative spirit. This award may be received more than once, but no more than once in a five-year period.
Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 31, 2003. Send nominations or inquires to parentsassoc@darlingtonschool.org or Parents’ Choice Award c/o Parents Association, Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Rd., Rome, GA 30161.
Middle School secretary Diane Ogletree was the first recipient of the award during Faculty Appreciation Week, March 2002. Unselfish dedication and superior role modeling are some of the familiar phrases used to describe Ogletree.
