Four Upper School art students were recognized for their art and creativity in recent competitions. Sophomore Rachel Kim won a poster design contest for the United Way campaign, which was published in the Young Romans section of the Rome News Tribune. Also, Darlington was well represented when senior Sung Lu won first place in the Floyd Farm Bureau art contest, and senior Stephen Whatley came in second place, with senior Alicia Gamble in third place. This is the first time Darlington has participated in this competition.

Both of these contests were open to all students in the Rome/Floyd county area. “I am very proud of these creative and talented students,” said Kathy O’Mara, Upper School art instructor. All students in the advanced art classes were invited to enter their work into these competitions.
