The Darlington Fine Arts Booster Club is making a significant effort to recognize students and faculty who contribute notably to the fine arts. One way in which it is achieving this objective is by sending a congratulatory bag of Hershey’s Hugs and Kisses chocolate candies to any Darlington fine arts contributor who merits acknowledgment. Darlington parent and Fine Arts Booster Club volunteer Sally Leslie is heading this endeavor and has requested that recommendations of individuals who deserve recognition be sent to her via e-mail at lsally@attglobal.net.

According to Bob Babcock, Darlington Fine Arts Booster Club president, the “Hugs and Kisses” recognition is not a new program but one that is being enhanced due to Leslie’s enthusiasm. “Unfortunately we have only been able to present hugs and kisses to those of whom we were aware. It is clear to me that Sally will take this to a new level.”

Babcock also shared that the Darlington Fine Arts Booster Club will be awarding a scholarship to a senior boy and one to a senior girl this spring. These scholarships will be presented to students based on criteria that the Booster Club has established and the selections will be made by the fine arts department faculty.
