Annual Fund volunteers enjoy thank-you party

The Development Office hosted a thank-you party on June 20 at historic Valley View, near Cartersville, in honor of this year’s Annual Fund volunteers. Over 75 volunteers, including division chairs, major gift solicitors, and phonathon callers, enjoyed the buffet.
National Annual Fund Chair Joyce Riddle Neely ’T62 was presented a Darlington chair by Mary Norton, gift officer for annual giving, in appreciation for all her hard work and dedication. Michael Van Cise ’97, gift officer for reunion giving, made a presentation to Atlanta Alumni Phonathon Chairs Mary K. McGuffey ’90 and Stephanie Denney ’91, as well as to Rome Alumni Phonathon Chair Billy Harrison ’86. Van Cise complimented them on their tireless efforts to enlist volunteers and increase alumni donor participation numbers.
Board of Trustee Member and Development Committee Chair Jack Harris ’71 recognized Neely and Norton for their outstanding efforts and service on behalf of Darlington. Norton and Neely, in turn, each thanked all the volunteers. These volunteers helped raise $1,171,073 for Darlington’s 2001-02 Annual Fund. The money given to the Annual Fund is used to bridge the gap between tuition and the School’s operating budget.
