The Annual Fund Fall effort is finishing up strong, based on the most recent Annual Fund Weekly Report. “Despite a challenging financial atmosphere, the Annual Fund total to date is slightly ahead of last year,” Joyce Riddle Neely, national chair, said. An extremely busy Annual Fund Fall effort is apparent based on the progress toward the goal of $1,333,000.
All divisions, with the exception of the Friends Division, received a fall solicitation mailing or a direct request for a gift to this year’s campaign. Phonathons scheduled in September and October for the Day Parent, Resident Parent and Alumni Divisions had a positive impact on donor participation numbers. This year, Parents of Alumni were called during the two phonathons, bringing their donors to 167 compared to 50 donors last year.
“These accomplishments would not have been possible without the energy and leadership you extended this fall as well as the support of the Development staff,” Neely said. “We are looking forward to strong numbers in December as a result of our fall efforts and the End of Year mailing.” The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2002, in the Yancey Suite of the A.J. Huffman Athletic Center from 5:50 pm to 7 pm.
