Alumni Weekend ’99 is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Oct. 8-10. While alumni celebrating a reunion are the focus of alumni weekend, all alumni and current and past parents and grandparents may participate in a pre-game tailgate party and focus group discussions with Darlington’s new president David Hicks.
The pre-game tailgate party includes barbecue, refreshments, and entertainment on the lawn in front of the gymnasium, Friday, Oct. 8, at 5:30 p.m., and concludes before the start of the homecoming football game against Armuchee.
On Saturday, Oct. 9, at 10:30 a.m., Hicks will engage alumni in an open discussion on Darlington’s Goals 2000 (see story, page 1). He hopes to receive input and possible solutions to the challenges of boarding student retention, drug and alcohol use among students, and effective use of technology on campus. The discussion will take place in the Briley Lecture Room located on the second floor of the library.
To learn more about the complete schedule of events, refer to the calendar on pages 8 and 9 or call the alumni office at 706-236-0422 or 1-800-520-9040. Reservations for the tailgate party are suggested but not required.
