Working to reach a participation goal of 30 percent, Darlington’s alumni have contributed $240,177 in cash and pledges against a dollar goal of $559,000, as of mid-December.

December, the season of giving and last month of the calendar year, is an important time for institutions such as Darlington. The generosity of alumni through their tax-deductible gifts, is an essential ingredient to the School’s success, both now and in the years to come.

In addition to cash gifts, which may be deductible from federal income tax returns, alumni may make gifts of ongoing significance, such as gifts included in a will or living trust, gifts of retirement assets, such as pension plans or Individual Retirement Accounts, gifts of life insurance, or life income gifts.

Alumni can help the School and reduce their taxes by making a gift to the Annual Fund before Dec. 31, 2002. The Development Office offers five easy ways to make an Annual Fund gift:

· Make a gift online on the Annual Fund page with a VISA or MasterCard.

· Call the Development Office at 706-802-4363.

· E-mail the Development Office at geberhart@darlingtonschool.org.

· Mail a check to Annual Fund, Darlington School, Rome, GA 30161
