Alumni Council welcomes 6 new members

Darlington's Alumni Council recently welcomed six new members for the 2017-2020 term.

Lou Dempsey ('87, LD '17) is president of Dempsey Auction Co. in Rome. A Leadership Darlington graduate, he is an Annual Fund and parent volunteer. He also helped host a recent Rome-area Lunch & Learn for local alumni and friends. He is the father of current student Georgeanna Dempsey ('23), the son of Ray Dempsey ('61), and the brother of Mary Em Dean ('90).

Jean Early ('76, LD ’15) operates her own accounting firm in Kennesaw, Ga. A graduate of Leadership Darlington, she is active with her class and helped organize their latest reunion. Early has also returned to campus several times to speak with students -- first, as a Career Day session speaker and, most recently, in a math class, where she provided practical life tips to seniors. She is a member of the J.J. Darlington Society and recently helped sponsor the Legends Dinner.  
 
Marie (Hodge) Gordon (‘99, LD ’12) of Marietta, Ga., is press secretary for Sen. Johnny Isakson. A graduate of Leadership Darlington and class agent, she is very active with her class. Gordon has also spoken at Career Day. She and her husband, Michael (’99, LD '16), have two young children.
 
Bess Kelley ('09, LD ’17) is manager of Honey Moon Bakery in Rome. A graduate of the most recent Leadership Darlington class, she serves as a class agent and organized her class's most recent reunion. Kelley has also been a Career Day speaker. She is the daughter of Rosa ('80) and Jimmy Kelley (''74, LD '17) and the granddaughter of A.W. Ledbetter ('49). She is engaged to Jay Graham ('08). 

Chrissy Robertson ('94, LD ’16) of Smyrna, Ga., is a first vice president with SunTrust Bank. She is a graduate of Leadership Darlington and former class agent. Robertson is also a member of the J.J. Darlington Society.
 
Harley Yancey ('07, LD ’17) is an associate attorney with Brinson Askew Berry Rome. He is a graduate of the most recently Leadership Darlington class. Yancey has attended and hosted Rome-area Lunch & Learn events this year and last. He is also a member of the 1905 Society. He is the son of Dee Yancey ('77) and the brother of Jack ('10) and Mary Morgan ('12).
