Admission Seeks Nominations

The admission office is seeking candidates for three student scholarships. All members of the Darlington community may submit names during the coming months. Since 1983, Darlington has awarded the J. Ross McCain Honor Scholarship to an incoming resident student from the southeastern United States in honor of J. Ross McCain, Darlington’s first headmaster. This scholarship, a full-tuition award, is renewable each year and is awarded solely on the basis of merit, without regard to financial need, race, or gender. Established in 1993, the Robert P. Holding Scholarship, a partial-tuition award, is designated for an incoming resident student from North Carolina (must have been a resident for at least one year) capable of a great academic experience and interest in extracurricular activities and developing strong leadership qualities. The Cornwell Scholarship is awarded as tuition assistance to a qualified boarding student enrolled at Darlington School from the State of North Carolina. This scholarship is merit-based designed to attract the most qualified candidate, regardless of need.
