A Note From a Parent
By Tom Whitworth III - FF/S
Last week, the following note was passed along to me from one of our current parents who is also the parent of a recent graduate. The message is so positive, I thought I’d let it speak for itself:
“After her first semester at college, my daughter came home and thanked us for sending her to Darlington. She told us that at the time, she really didn’t realize just how much she was going to benefit from her education there. She said that she knew that she loved going to school there, loved the teachers, her friends, etc., but at the time she just didn’t realize how lucky she was to be able to be at Darlington. She said that when she went away to college she couldn’t believe how prepared she was. She couldn’t believe that there were students in college who had never had to write a paper in high school and didn’t have any idea how to do it. On her very first English paper, she made a 98! She even told her younger brother to really appreciate everything about Darlington because he had no idea just how much he will benefit from it. Can you believe this is someone who this time last year was a high school student?!”
This sort of feedback is a great testament to what we do here each and every day. We hear all the time from our grown alumni how much they value their Darlington education, but to hear this from a recent graduate is truly energizing!
