7 named to Girls' All-Area Track & Field Team

Seven members of Darlington's varsity girls' track and field team have received Rome News-Tribune All-Area honors.
Stephanie Ward, a rising junior, was named to the All-Area First Team after finishing second in the 800, third in the 1600, and fourth in the long jump at the Class A Private School State Meet. She also ran the anchor leg on the 4x100 relay team that placed seventh and the 4x400 relay that placed fourth in state. In all, she scored 19 points individually for the Lady Tigers and helped the relays add another nine points for Darlington.
Paige Mavity, a rising senior, was named to the All-Area First Team after placing seventh in the Class A state pole vault.
Darlington’s 4x400 relay team, made up of Kinslee Clevenger, Jade Cox, Emily Swafford and Stephanie Ward, was named to the All-Area First Team after finishing fourth at the Class A Private School State Meet.
In addition, rising seniors Emily Swafford, Kinslee Clevenger, Lauren Hooper and Jazlyn Green were named to the All-Area Second Team.
