4 student athletes receive All-Area honors for softball

Two Lady Tigers have been honored with spots on the Rome News-Tribune's All-Area first and second teams for softball, in addition to two honorable mentions.

Keara Evans ('16) was named to the All-Area first team. The senior led the Lady Tigers in her final season with a .450 average and 26 RBIs—three of which were home runs.

Sydney Seymour ('19) was named to the All-Area second team. The ninth-grade student completed her first season at Darlington with 12 runs and a .981 fielding percentage.

Ellie Gillis ('18) and Kathryne Ledbetter ('19) were named as honorable mentions. Gillis led the team in runs with 16, and finished with a .950 fielding percentage. Ledbetter’s freshman season as pitcher included three home runs and a .360 average.
