4 score All-Area honors in volleyball

Three Darlington student athletes have been named to the Rome News-Tribune's first and second All-Area teams for volleyball, in addition to one honorable mention.
Julia Holmes ('18) and Callie Maffett ('18) were named to the All-Area first team. Holmes maintained a strong presence with 243 kills over the course of the season as the team’s most reliable server. As Darlington’s setter, Maffett excelled on the court with the area’s highest number of assists—536. She also led the Lady Tigers with 77 aces.
Mary Margaret Wright ('16) was named to the All-Area second team. The senior completed her final season with 208 points earned, 75 aces and 21 blocks.
Zoe Smith ('16) was named an honorable mention. The outside hitter earned 142 points for the team and executed 67 aces.
