13 make All-Area Track Team

Thirteen student-athletes from Darlington were named to the Rome News-Tribune All-Area Track Team.
Jesse Baker ('12) won region and placed sixth in state in the 3200 (9:57.18) and placed second in region and sixth in state in the 1600 (4:30.26). He is the son of Patti and Phil Baker of Rome.
Paige Banks ('12) placed fourth in state in the 200 meters (25.61); won region and placed fourth in state in the 400 meters (58.83); was a member of a team that finished eighth in state in the 4x100; and was a member of a team that won region and finished second in state in the 4x400 (4:09.16), setting a new school record. She is the daughter of Pamela and Ricky Banks of Atlanta.
Darlene Chikezie ('12) won region in triple jump; was a member of a team that finished eighth in state in the 4x100; was a member of a team that won region and placed second in state in the 4x400 (4:09.16), setting a new school record. She is the daughter of Ruby Nnadi of Jonesboro, Ga.
Cam Collins ('12) won the Class A State Championship in the 800 (1:57.21); placed first in region int he 800; and won region and placed fourth in state for the 1600 (4:27.06). He is the son of Rozanne and Forrest Collins of Calhoun.
Alex Cox, a rising senior, finished second in region and state in the 800 (1:57.38) and fourth in state in pole vault. He is the son of Sunny and John Cox of Rome.
Cameron Gibson ('12) took ninth at state in the long jump (21'10"); won region and placed fourth in state in the 100 hurdles (15.37); and placed fifth in state in the 300 hurdles (40.97). He is the son of Carman and Warren Gibson of Rome.
Katie Hurley, a rising sophomore, was a member of a team that won region and finished second in state in the 4x400 (4:09.16), setting a new school record. She is the daughter of Jody and Barry Hurley of Rome.
Nigel Matthews ('12) won region and finished fourth in state in the triple jump (42'8") and placed seventh in state in the long jump (21'6"). He is the son of Alethia and Michael Green of Dallas, Ga.
Ansley McDurmon ('12) finished first in region and fifth in state in the 3200 (11:40.98) and first in region and sixth in state in the 1600 (5:28). She is the daughter of Heather and Kelly McDurmon of Rome.
Marissa McKoy ('12) finished ninth in state in the high jump (4'10"); was a member of the team that placed eighth in state in the 4x100; and was a member of the team that won region and took second in state in the 4x400 (4:09.16), setting a new school record. She is the daughter of Pat Kidd of Rome and Ray McKoy, also of Rome.
Terar Stewart, a rising senior, placed fifth in state in discus (108'6") and eighth in state in shot put (36'2.5"). She is the daughter of Nikki Watkins and Andre Stewart of Rome.
Chase Tolbert ('12) won multiple regular-season meets in both discus and shot put and placed fourth in state in the discus (137'9"). He is the son of Missie and Michael Tolbert of Kennesaw, Ga.
Honorable Mentions went to Anna Cantrell, Kinslee Clevenger, Ivy Duggan, Lindsay Evans, Lauren Hooper, Caroline Kipp, E.J. Newbern and Kendrick Rhea.
