Moser House

Wilcox Hall

Moser House, one of six residence halls on the Darlington campus, occupies the entire second floor of Wilcox Hall. Moser is known as an “upperclassmen house.” Once a student completes a year in the first-year boys’ house, Summerbell House, he has the choice of moving to Moser House or Neville House.

History

Moser House is named in honor of former faculty member Worth Moser, who came to Darlington in 1944 to teach Spanish and was an integral part of the school until his passing in 1985. He was an avid supporter of athletics, coaching men’s golf, serving as the official mascot of the baseball team, and operating the clock for all home basketball games. Moser also ran the bookstore, advised the student “Y,” kept the soft drink machines stocked each morning and directed the Glee Club. He was later named associate headmaster and dean of academics and faculty.
