Darlington graduate Spencer Fields ('15) was recognized by classmates, faculty, friends and family at a small reception to unveil a new record board reflecting his times in the 3,200-meter (9:38.49) and 5,000-meter (15:31.20) runs.

Coach Katie Ellis referred to the athlete as being the best runner in Darlington's history. During his senior year, Fields captured both the Class AA state title in cross country (2014) and track and field (2015).

Former coach Alan Parish delivered a pre-recorded video message from Germany, offering his congratulations to the recent graduate.

The new record boards are now on display on the second floor of the A.J. Huffman ('67) Memorial Athletic Center.

Fields will enter Rhodes College this fall, where he will run in the Division III school's cross country program.
