The thrill of competition. The rush of a standing ovation. Creating something from a blank sheet of paper. The bonds formed with teammates, band mates, cast and crew. Giving your all to something greater than yourself. Fine arts and athletics create learning experiences that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom, and with nearly 90% of our students participating in either or both, these programs are essential to the Darlington Experience.

Investing in Their Passions

To ensure their relevance and longevity, it’s time to create an endowment fund for each area that will grow in perpetuity. The funds that spin off from the Fine Arts and Athletic Strategic Funds each year would be used for:

• Stipends - To recognize the ever-evolving commitment of the talented faculty and staff members who go above and beyond to lead these programs.
• Resources - To plan strategically for the modernization and supplementation of learning tools and equipment.
• Opportunities - To allow us the flexibility to take advantage of student-centered opportunities that may arise, such as additional travel, guest speakers, and more.

In short, a gift to our strategic funds is an investment in the richness of our students’ experience now and wherever these programs may take us.
