“Can you take PayPal?”
“Do you have Venmo?”
We have been asked these questions countless times. When you can easily checkout your cart with PayPal, or send your friend money for the coffee on Venmo they picked up, it makes sense that you want that convenience for your donations. Unfortunately, in the past our answer has been no.
Until now.
This year, the Alumni Council’s Endowment Committee wanted to make it easier for you to give and thus was born the idea of Giving Day. Make your gift on or before Wednesday, Feb. 10, at www.darlingtonschool.org/givingday. Here, you will have the option to make a one-time or recurring monthly donation using your PayPal, Venmo or credit/debit card. The coffee, snacks, or clothing you might buy with $5, $19.05, or $250 could instead provide important supplies and resources for our students and teachers.
Interestingly, Feb. 10 would have been school namesake Joseph J. Darlington’s 172nd birthday, and since our teachers have been the heart and soul of Darlington for more than 100 years, there is truly no better day to ask you to support our school. Every dollar we raise is put to use immediately to directly support students and teachers this school year. We are asking anyone who has never made a gift to Darlington to consider making a gift of $19.05, an amount that honors the year we were founded. Our goal is 300 new donors and we hope you'll help us get there!
So save the date for Giving Day and, as an added bonus, every donor who makes a Giving Day contribution on or before Feb. 10 will receive a caricature sticker of our very own Sam Moss ('63), dean of college guidance. You can't get it anywhere else!
