18 named to All-Region 6A/A team for football

A total of 18 Darlington players are on the 2020 Region 6-A/A All-region football team including Defensive Player of the Year Harrison Allen ('21) and Co-Lineman of the Year Davis Watson ('21). 

FIRST TEAM OFFENSE: 

Quarterback Patrick Shelley ('22), wide receiver Thomas Speed ('21), all purpose player Thomas Bethel ('23), offensive lineman Luke Lewis ('21), and punter Brinson Sumner ('21).  

FIRST TEAM DEFENSE: 

Devensive lineman Chris McCluney ('22) and linebacker Darius Smith ('23)  

SECOND TEAM OFFENSE: 

Wide receiver Gabe Simpkins ('23), offensive lineman Burke Shrimsher ('21), and snapper Mason MacKenzie ('22). 

SECOND TEAM DEFENSE: 

Defensive lieman DJ Johnson ('22), linebacker Tyler Watkins ('21), linebacker Joe Marion ('21), and defensive back Luke McDurmon ('21). 

Players receiving honorable mention included Gatlin Hancock ('23) and Bowden Owens ('23).
