Meet this year's Pre-K to 8 volunteers for The Darlington Fund's Parents for Purple initiative! Parents for Purple is our annual parent campaign for The Darlington Fund, and the volunteers listed below are working hard to get each of their individual classes to 100% participation. Last year's overall parent participation was 60% and this year we're shooting for 75%. We hope you'll help us!

Robert Hortman (’99, LD ’18) - Pre-Kindergarten

Robert is part of a great legacy family! His father, Dr. Bob Hortman (’72), is the current chairman of the Board of Trustees, and his brother, Jeff (’02, LD ’15), and sister, Janie (’03, LD ’13), also attended Darlington. After Darlington, Robert attended the United States Naval Academy and served as a naval aviator. He currently flies for FedEx. He and his wife, Nancy, live in Rome with their sons, West (’31) and Wills (’34). Robert also serves on the Alumni Council.

Danielle Stitt - Kindergarten and 3rd grade

This is Danielle’s third year as parent representative for our Parents for Purple campaign. Her husband, Jonathan, graduated in 2000 and they were married in the Morris Chapel. Danielle works locally in property management and their sons, Wesley (’30) and Sam (’33), attend Darlington.

Kimberly (Murphy) Moseley (’87) - 1st grade

Kimberly has been a longtime Darlington volunteer. She has served on the Alumni Council and been a phonathon caller, Fairy DarMother, and Admission Ambassador. She has also served as a co-chair of the Purple Tie Affair, been treasurer and president of Pre-K to 8 Tiger Pride, and currently serves as a class agent. Kimberly and her husband, Stephen, are both attorneys in Rome with Brinson, Askew, Berry. They have two children, Blair (’25) and Murphy Grace (’32).

Julie (Wilson) Lucas (’97) - 2nd and 5th grade

Julie had philanthropy in mind long before she became chief advancement officer at Darlington. She has been a longtime class agent and was featured in Darlington Magazine for her work with Atlanta charities. She has worked in Darlington’s Advancement Office since moving to Rome in 2007. She and her husband, Sam ('97), are the parents of Wilson (’28) and Hudson (’31).

Margaret Montague - 4th grade

This is Margaret’s third year serving as a parent representative for our Parents for Purple Campaign and she is also president of Pre-K to 8 Tiger Pride this year. Margaret and her husband, Clark, have two children at Darlington, Porter (’31) and Ethan (’29).

Becca Wood - 6th and 8th grade

Becca has worked in Darlington's Advancement Office for five years and has also been a loyal parent volunteer. She has been a member of Tiger Pride and assisted with multiple Purple Tie Affairs. She and her husband, Tyler, moved to Rome seven years ago to raise their children, Ty (’27) and Emi Grace (’25), in a small town.

Brooke Brinson (’88, LD ’14) - 7th grade

Brooke has done it all! He is currently a class agent, serves on the Alumni Council, and has been a Parents for Purple volunteer for four years. He works for Hardy Realty and lives in Rome with his wife, Jessica, who has served as an Admission Ambassador and Purple Tie volunteer. Brooke has also served as a Purple Tie volunteer, been a longtime phonathon caller, and served on The Darlington Fund Leadership Team. Their children are Vaughn (’22) and Ruthie (’26).
